First Trimester Pt 2
I decided since there were things about the first trimester of my pregnancy I didn’t talk about in the first post I should make another post about those things. This post will include some sensitive subjects so if you are uncomfortable talking about or reading about poop or stuff of that nature than continue on to another one of my blog posts.
My sense of smell was hugely different during pregnancy but also different from my first pregnancy. During my first pregnancy I smelt pee everywhere. This pregnancy if it was a bad smell than it smelt like rotting clay. I know clay doesn’t rot lol but imagine sewage and clay. It was so horrible the whole first trimester, going on walks, going to the bathroom, doing the laundry. I got so sick of just being overwhelmed by that smell all day.
During the first trimester I had said I felt like I had the stomach flu everyday which was feeling sick, throwing up and diarrhea some days. Going along with the previous topic of sense of smell change my poop smelled so bad, plus it is summer right now and it was really warm in the bathroom so I was always sweating. I hated the times I had to go poop for those reasons. Along with this was an increase in flatulence especially at night and that also smelt horrible. My husband got mad at me almost overnight but I couldn’t do anything about the frequency or the smell.
Also my body order had changed. I normally do not wear deodorant and even when I do sweat it doesn’t smell bad. Now I smell like all I do is eat onions all day, I had to start wearing deodorant everyday and even towards the end of the day if I have been sweating a lot, which I am because I am pregnant and our summers are a normal of 95-100 degrees each day I sweat through the deodorant and stink again.
I can only assume all of these changes are due to hormones. I have a pretty good diet even during my first trimester and I just can’t explain otherwise the smells haha.
I had pretty bad acne also and a heat rash all along my belly, just under my boobs, my inner thighs and my butt. My husband calls it chub rub since I have thick thighs and when I wear shorts my thighs rub together and I get a rub rash.
I normally am a size small A cup but now I am sitting around a C cup and I think my boobs are going to start growing more since they are getting sore again. I am not used to having boobs and I don’t wear a bra unless I have to because of my outfit I am wearing and I am getting a rash under my boobs from the sweat.
Now all these things that happened during my first trimester sucked horribly and I complained a little to my husband, this is more for the women out there who haven’t been pregnant before and they can hopefully get a small idea of what might happen during their pregnancy. As you might have read in my previous blog post I had done a lot of research on pregnancy and women don’t really talk about all these things that happen. I am not afraid to talk about poop and farts and bad smells and I hope to encourage other women to do the same because it is nothing to be ashamed of.
Thank you for listening to my little rant and I just want to say “Just because I am complaining I am still so thankful to have this opportunity to grow and carry my beautiful baby.
