What are EMF’s?
EMF’s are Electric Magnetic Fields, there are low frequency and high frequency and all electronics and even the sun gives off a form of these fields. So why should you be concerned about EMF’s? Well since we are surrounded by electronics in our daily lives at home, at work and even while were outside we need to learn how the effects they have on the human body and how we can mitigate the effects of these to create a healthier lifestyle.
Low level frequencies are called Non- Ionizing and are said to not really have an affect on humans since its low frequency.
Some common low frequency things are microwaves, bluetooth, cell phones, smart meters, computers, power lines, televisions and radios, LED lights and many more.
High level frequencies are called Ionizing and more harmful and are said to be harmful to cells and DNA with prolonged time around these.
Some common high frequency things are the sun UV rays, X-rays, and gamma rays.
So what effects do these frequencies have on the body? There are studies being done to find what effects they have like cancers, cell damage, mitochondria damage, leukemia, damage to reproductive organs. Common symptoms from EMF exposure is headaches, fatigue, low quality sleep, dehydration, metabolic issues like digestion issues, increased stress, weight gain and hormone disruptions just to name a few.
Even though the low level frequencies have been stated to be safe for humans to be around this is most likely before we were surrounded by them all day everyday. A french study showed that 9 out of 10 cell phones emitted too high radiation frequencies that were above the government safety standards. This study was done in 2017, at this time cell phones were running on 4G, now they want to release 5G service which will emit much higher EMF’s.
Along with cell phones emitting higher than safe frequencies we have routers in our homes and offices that emit wifi to all our devices. These routers emit EMF’s through the whole home and even out into the street, as they are with cell phones they are pushing for people to upgrade their homes with 5G.
The maximum recommended exposure time to EMF’s is 4 hours a day, thats crazy to think about considering were being exposed all day and all night to this type of radiation.
So now you have an better understanding of what EMF’s are, where to find them and the effects they have on the human body. In another blog I will discuss steps to take to mitigate as much the effects as possible living in the modern world.
